WINE TASTINGS

Villa del Lauro boutique hotel in Ragusa, in partnership with Poggio di Bortolone Winery in the countryside of Chiaramonte Gulfi, suggests three different winery tours: 1) Masterclass Poggio di Bortolone “A trip among the fruits of our vineyard”; 2) Ibla Legacy Tasting “A tour through the tastes of our rural traditions”; 3) Poggio & Tradition “Five wines, five dishes, five steps into the Sicilian gastronomic tradition”.

DISCOVER THE IBLEI MOUNTAINS

Trekking tours, naturalistic walks and excursions to discover the Iblei Mountains and their breathtaking sceneries. The southeastern part of Sicily, which comprehend Ragusa and Syracuse provinces, is characterized by splendid beaches, ancient settlements, rolling hills, rocky valleys and rough plains.
We will come with you along the typical paths of a sunny, rich, welcoming and sometimes contradictory land. The naturalistic tourism has no season: you can practice it whenever you want throughout the year: we will suggest different tours according to the different weather conditions and the desired destination. Our main aim during each excursion is to make you experience different and unforgettable emotions.

MAKE IT AND TASTE IT

Cooking Class are the funniest way to discover the Sicilian gastronomic culture. Upon request, we organize different types of Cooking Class using ancient grains and local products for the preparation of fresh pasta and other dishes.  
 “Hands on” is the easier version of the complete cooking class: thought for the least skilled in the kitchen, the course includes the preparation of different pastries, especially her majesty the pizza, starting from the already made dough.
You cannot miss tastings: local cheese paired with local wines, bread and rich platter of cold cuts. Taste these special delicacies during your holiday in Ragusa.

You cannot say no to our delicious appetizers and single courses!
The interesting tour through the Sicilian street food delicacies will let you discover tasty pastries and fried dishes that you can replicate at home with your friends, bringing back home a piece of the Sicilian gastronomic traditions.
You can choose between two different courses: “Bakery products” or “Street Food and Fried Dishes”. Of course, you will taste the food you made at the end of the class!

FROM THE GARDEN TO THE PLATE

This activity is thought for those who love natural and biological products, freshly picked from the open garden. We work in collaboration with “social gardens” who care about the conditions of workers and seasonality of products.
Not to mention the possibility of picking vegetables directly from the garden, cook them with the help of the chef and at the end of the class you can taste the special dishes you have made.
